Letter: Many cabbies in Las Vegas inconsiderate
Tuesday, March 4, 2003 | 8:34 a.m.
The pictures on the front page of Wednesday's Sun -- showing the cab barreling down the Strip, spraying tourists with water -- really captured the spirit of cab drivers in this city. Probably not all, but so many of the cab drivers find every way in the book to be inconsiderate.
If they have to cut another driver off to get into a lane, they will. If they find themselves three lanes away from an exit they want, they'll careen across those three lanes to get to the exit at the last minute. If a driver in front of them isn't going fast enough to suit them, they'll tear around and then cut in. And this is after they've laid on the horn, showing their displeasure.
Would it have hurt the cab driver in these pictures to slow down a little so that the people on the sidewalk wouldn't have gotten splashed? It may have cost the driver 5 seconds of time, but it would have been the nice, considerate thing to do.
