Free concert
Tops in Blue, the United States Air Force's premier entertainment group, will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. Friday at the Stratosphere. The concert is to show support for the men, women and families of Nellis Air Force Base. 383-4790.
Marlena Shaw
Singer Marlena Shaw, who performs everything from jazz to rock to R&B, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzei Park. Tickets are $12 at the gate and $10 in advance. 229-6704.
Quintet concert
The Brass Roots Quintet, led by Walt Boenig, will perform everything from traditional to contemporary music at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Reed Whipple Cultural Center Studio Theatre, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Admission is free, but tickets are required in advance. 229-6211.
Concert
The John Haig Orchestra will headline the sixth annual Lamont Patterson Big Band Dance concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stardust. The performance is free. 617-5577.
Christian rock
Ascension, a contemporary Christian rock band, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Pkwy. The performances are free. 454-8484.
Amateur night
The Beach is now hosting a "Local Band Night" at 9 p.m. every Thursday at 365 Convention Center Drive. The event is free for both participating bands and patrons. 731-1925.
Theater
Murder mystery
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a murder mystery dinner and play from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Senior Center, 27 E. Texas Ave. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. 565-6990.
'The Taffetas'
The Las Vegas Little Theatre presents "The Taffetas" at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Thursday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday at 3844 Schiff Drive. Tickets are $18 for adults and $17 for seniors and students for regular shows and $25 for the gala show. 362-7996.
Outdoor theater
The State Parks Cultural Arts Board presents "Hello, Dolly!" the first play in its "Super Summer Theatre 2003" series, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, 18 miles west on Charleston Boulevard in Red Rock Canyon. Tickets are $7. 594-7529 or 895-2787.
