California debt collector moving to Las Vegas
Friday, June 27, 2003 | 12:03 p.m.
A California debt-collection company has won state tax-abatement and training grant incentives to relocate to Nevada.
In Business Las Vegas, a sister newspaper to the Las Vegas Sun, reported American Recovery Service Inc. (ARS), Thousand Oaks, Calif., will open a Las Vegas operation with four or five employees in September, hire 20 Southern Nevada workers after the doors open and have 80 to 100 workers by the end of the year, an executive said.
The company will receive an incentive package worth a total of $75,470 following action this month by the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.
The company qualified for the incentives by providing 89 jobs and by offering wages of $18.02 an hour, which is above the mandated minimum (the state average is $15.48 an hour).
