Letter: Hatred of Hillary is unfounded
Friday, June 20, 2003 | 6 a.m.
We Democrats who respect Hillary Clinton know her for what she is. She was a credible first lady and is now the junior senator from New York.
An examination of her life shows that she was a good daughter to her parents growing up in Park Ridge, Ill., was an excellent student who graduated with honors from Wellesley College, and was awarded her law degree from Yale. At Yale she met and eventually married Bill Clinton.
She was a concerned first lady, first to the people of Arkansas, and then to our nation. She has led an exemplary life.
Conservative commentators have attacked her with scurrilous, scathing and tasteless criticism. Hillary Clinton is just a former first lady, and is now a U.S. senator, but their loathing and hatred of her, which rises to the level of hysteria, is totally unreasonable.
