Letter: Flawed logic in WMD argument
Friday, June 20, 2003 | 9:17 a.m.
That was an interesting letter on June 18 from Debbie Gansberg, calling for the impeachment of President Bush because he supposedly lied about the reasons for going to war with Iraq. Let me see if I can follow her "reasoning":
President Bush deliberately lied about Iraq possessing weapons of mass destruction, knowing all the while that when the war was won and nothing was found, he would lose credibility in front of the whole world. And Saddam Hussein refused to allow unlimited inspections despite the fact that he had nothing to hide and would remain in power.
Yeah, that all makes perfect sense, doesn't it?
I seem to remember someone else who was sure that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. His name is Bill Clinton. Now there was a man who always told the truth ...
