Letter: Bush should be impeached
Wednesday, June 18, 2003 | 8:54 a.m.
Lies, lies and more lies. Perhaps the truth will finally be revealed about the man who was given the presidency by the Supreme Court and not by the voice of the people.
It is becoming evident that President Bush and company did indeed manipulate and terrorize the people of the United States into a war with Iraq. No weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. Saddam Hussein has not been found.
As it stands now, 140 American servicemen and women have been killed in Iraq (10 in the past 15 days). All told, more than 200 coalition military personnel have been killed. Since he made his "presidential campaign 2004" film footage by landing on a carrier ship and declaring major combat over -- men are still being killed. The battles are continuing. How ironic to be killed by the very people Bush promised would greet the United States military with open arms and thankfulness for being liberated.
There is a lot of spin doctoring being done by the White House right now. If Bush has deliberately misled the United States and the European nations into a war with Iraq, he should be impeached. If he believes that the intelligence he was given was true in spite of admonitions that the intelligence was not proven, then his competency as a leader should be examined. Bush should be impeached.
We should not allow more husbands, wives, sons, and daughters to be killed at Bush's hands for a trumped-up war.
