Because of an error by the Sun, the name of Nevada Board of Education member Barbara Myers was misspelled in a story about lawmakers lowering the passing score on the statewide math proficiency exam, published in Tuesday's edition. Additionally, the words "unfortunate validation" were paraphrased from Myers' remarks and were not a direct quotation. The Sun regrets the error.
