Las Vegas-based Systems Research and Development has entered into an agreement to integrate its software with IBM server-based systems.
Under the agreement, IBM will assist in development efforts to make SRD's NORA security analysis software and SI Warehouse data warehousing software compatible with the IBM platform. The software should be IBM-ready by the end of the year.
The company's software -- which is already available for server-based Windows and Unix systems -- tracks user identities for marketing and security applications.
Unlike most desktop computers -- typically IBM-based systems with Windows operating systems -- software used on server-based systems must be tailored to run on unique platforms.
"Now that we've got IBM's attention, it opens up our market by about a third," said Earl Stevens, senior marketing specialist for SRD. "It exposes us to a lot of Fortune 500 companies."
SRD was founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1984 and relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 when the company entered into several contracts with Las Vegas gaming companies.
