The Nevada Supreme Court upheld Tuesday a $1.2 million judgment against Toys 'R' Us, which was sued by a woman who was injured when boxes fell on her while walking down an aisle of a store in Las Vegas.
Crystal Hill and her husband Gerald Hill won the judgment. Three boxes, weighing seven pounds each, fell from a shelf 14-feet above her, causing head, shoulder and back injuries.
Toys 'R' Us agreed it was liable but disputed the amount of the damages and the granting of $209,000 in attorney fees. Before trial, the Hills offered to settle for $300,000, but the business rejected this offer.
