Hike Mount Charleston on Public Lands Day
In celebration of Public Lands Day on Saturday, the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area will host these events for National Trails Day:
A two-hour guided hike hosted by the Forest Service will begin at 9 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. Participants will meet at Kyle Canyon Visitors Center, located off State Route 157.
Then take a 6.3-mile mountain bike ride through Bristlecones of the Mount Charleston area on the Bristlecone Trail. Members and a Forest Service Wilderness Ranger will lead the ride. Meet at the Bristlecone Trailhead at Scout Canyon Road.

Speedway to host street racing alternative
Titan Auto Insurance and Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host Midnight Mayhem, an alternative to illegal street racing, Friday.
The drag racing is open to any licensed driver with a currently registered car or motorcycle with proof of insurance.
Each Midnight Mayhem event features a car show hosted by International All Stars, a disc jockey and midway attractions.
Race entry is $10.

Support offered for married couples
Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive in Henderson, is offering a support group for married couples, Boundaries in Marriage, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays through July 28.
The group will focus on how to strengthen relationships while maintaining individuality and freedom.

Career fair set at Palace Station
Career Fair Global's Las Vegas Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Palace Station.
Meet face-to-face with top local and national companies to discuss career opportunities in general, professional and technical job fields such as engineering, web development, computer programming, data processing, finance, accounting, insurance, sales, retail, restaurant and telecommunications.
Interested candidates may research attending companies for this fair, by browsing www.cfg-inc.com. Candidates are also encouraged to submit their resume online, whether able or unable to attend the event.
