Lucie Emily Banta

Lucie Emily Banta, 96, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born July 9, 1907, in West Mansfield, Ohio.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Lamb, and one son, Milton Charles Banta, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Rose Benedetta

Rose Benedetta, 88, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Philadelphia.

She is survived by one daughter, Diana M. Hamilton of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Pennsylvania. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Maureen Brophy

Maureen Brophy, 69, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born June 5, 1934, in Dublin, Ireland. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Cathy Swan and Colleen Kuthy, both of Henderson, and Eileen Mazurski of Three Rivers, Mich.; one son, Paul Brophy of St. Charles, Ill.; one sister, Kay Horan of Schaumburg, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 1 p.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to St. Jude's Ranch for Children Inc., 100 St. Jude, Boulder City, NV 89005.

Jeannette Charlotte Butler

Jeannette Charlotte Butler, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Wisconsin.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; two daughters, Pamela Los of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Penny Gornika; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Desert Hills Baptist Church, 4401 S. Nellis Blvd., followed by burial in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Ronald Lynn Calhoun

Ronald Lynn Calhoun, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born May 3, 1956, in Las Vegas. A resident for 47 years, he was an air-conditioning installer.

He is survived by one daughter, Erica Calhoun of California; his mother, Annie Mae Calhoun, two brothers, Michael L. Calhoun and Keith L. Calhoun, and two sisters, Sandra Henderson and Lawanna Calhoun, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 F St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Martell Deon Cook

Martell Deon Cook, 20, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 29, 1983, in Las Vegas. He was a laborer.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Cook of Las Vegas; his father, Leon Cook Sr. of Los Angeles; two brothers, Leon Cook Jr. of Mississippi and Maurice Cook of Las Vegas; one sister, LaToya Jones of Las Vegas; four brothers, Eric Williams of Texas and Richard Selgler, Kevin Selgler and Bobby Selgler, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Edward Perkins Cox Jr.

Edward Perkins Cox Jr., 78, of Las Vegas died July 8 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Texas. A resident for 16 years, he was a cable splicer, an Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Camilla; and one son, Edward T. Cox III.

Carolyn E. Coy

Carolyn E. Coy, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 17, 1942, in Shrewsbury, Mass. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Denise Martinez of Ventura, Calif., and Melissa Wells of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in American Cremation and Burial Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in American Cremation and Burial Services.

Gary L. Deming

Gary L. Deming, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 23, 1941, in Watonga, Okla. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired civil service staff purser and a retired Vietnam War and Gulf War Navy veteran who served for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; one daughter, Kathrin Sena of San Diego; two sons, Gary L. Deming Jr. of Rhode Island and Reinhard Albuera of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Dorothy Nadine McDonald Elliott

Dorothy Nadine McDonald Elliott, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 11, 1930, in Round Rock, Texas. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; three sons, Johnny McDonald of Pennsylvania, James Ray McDonald of Las Vegas and Kenneth McDonald of Temple, Texas; one daughter, Susan Land of Las Vegas; three stepdaughters, Jamie Greene, Sandra Pontillas and Stephanie Pocchia, all of Henderson; one brother, Bobby Gill of Texas; six grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 6670 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Wilma Lee Fox

Wilma Lee Fox, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 11, 1938, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by six daughters, Annie Lynch of Las Vegas, Wilma Wadi, Bonnie Gross, Betty Henderson and Sharlynne Johnson, all of Chicago, and Minnie Alexander of West Memphis, Ark.; two sons, Herbert Fox of Cusion, Okla., and Maurice Fox of Omaha; and 29 grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Chicago. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Edmond 'Barney' Haffey

Edmond "Barney" Haffey, 80, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 6, 1923, in Cape Horn, Wash. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired shoe company manager and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Sandra Haffey of Portland, Ore., and Kellie Haffey of Long Beach, Wash.; one son, Michael Haffey of the Woodlands, Texas; one brother, two sisters; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Aileen W. Hair

Aileen W. Hair, 72, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1930, in Heber, Utah. A resident for 46 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by four sons, Kim D. Hair and Kevin L. Hair, both of Henderson, Tony K. Hair of Phoenix and Kelly R. Hair of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Dorothy Hyde of Clearfield, Utah; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Marie P. Hoffman

Marie P. Hoffman, 90, of Boulder City died Tuesday in Boulder City. She was born July 28, 1912, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 49 years, she was a retired owner-operator of a marine sales and service company and a Boulder City Hospital volunteer for several years.

She is survived by one son, Marshall Hoffman of Boulder City; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9:15-9:45 a.m. Saturday with services following at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd.

Albert Maurice Hudleson

Albert Maurice Hudleson, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio. A resident for 30 years, he was an accountant.

He is survived by one son, Scott Hudleson of Boulder City; two daughters, Robin Jablon of Henderson and Karen Bickel of Waukee, Iowa; one sister, Geraldine Nolan of Kettering, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Green Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wigwam Parkway and Valle Verde Drive. A private burial will follow. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Donald Morrison

Donald Morrison, 75, of Las Vegas died June 28 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 20, 1927, in Illinois. A resident for 34 years, he was a plumber and a veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Morris of Prescott, Ariz., and Terry Dohrmann and Betty Templeton, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Donald Morrison Jr., Robin Morrison and Robert Morrison, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Charles Morrison of Illinois; and eight grandchildren.

Dr. H. George Wirges

Dr. H. George Wirges, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Rauenstein, Germany. A resident for 25 years, he was a physician, a member of the Clark County Medical Society for 25 years, Canyon Gate Rotary Club, a board member of the Medical Executive Boards at Desert Springs and Sunrise hospitals.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; two daughters, Kira Austin Wirges and Christa Allison Wirges, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Agnes Wirges of Kentucky; and two sisters, Gertrude Supik of Maryland and Marianne Sturgess of Kentucky.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday with a 5 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 6 p.m. Saturday in St. Viator's Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.
