Guest Columnist Linda Frohlich: Spinning wheels on off-season

Linda Frohlich, an All-American at UNLV, is in her second year with the WNBA's New York Liberty. She writes a column every Thursday in the Sun. You can find out more about Linda on her Web site, www.LindaFrohlich.com.

Have you ever gotten in your car or hopped on your bike and just took off -- but you had no idea were you were going? This is how I am feeling right now.

I need to make a decision on were I am going to play this offseason. I think that I have narrowed my options down to two places. The first one is to return to Rovereto in Italy, or I will play with the NWBL for the Colorado Chill. Let me break down each situation and give you the pros and cons of each.

Italy is great. I love being there. Rovereto is in a beautiful place. From my apartment I can see the mountains. It is a little European town similar to where I grew up in Germany.

That's another thing, I will be back in Europe, which means I will be closer to my family. With this crazy lifestyle of mine, I do not get to see my family that often, so every chance I get I relish the moment. I really miss my brother and my sisters.

Also in Italy there is a certain level of familiarity. I know the coach already and my teammates as well. To add more fuel to the fire, two of my New York Liberty teammates have signed to play for Rovereto this year: Crystal Robinson and Vickie Johnson. One of my German National teammates has signed to play there as well. To top all of that off is that the pay is great.

Then there is the Colorado Chill. This is a brand new team in the NWBL. I think that Colorado is great because I get to stay in America. I will actually have a place of my own. They will give me my own apartment for one year. Previously I just lived where my teams told me to, and once the season was over I had to vacate the premises, but now I could go there anytime and call it home.

The season starts in January, so for the first time in two years I will have some time off just to be a regular citizen. I can come back to Las Vegas and visit everyone again (I miss you all, too). The time off is also well needed because it will allow my Achilles' to heal. That is really important because I want to have a long, productive career, God willing.

My New York Liberty teammate Becky Hammon has signed on to play with the Chill, so that is good. We are actually very good friends (even though I had to bust her chops when I was a freshman at UNLV). I know that she would show me around Colorado since she went to college there.

As you can see there are many positive things in both situations. You know what? I would love your input about this. E-mail me and tell me what you think I should do. Just go to my Web site at www.LindaFrohlich.com and click on the "Contact Linda" link and send me your opinions.

For all I know I could end up playing in Russia during the offseason. Thank you so much for your help and time!
