Letter: Lack of outrage is appalling

With much in the news regarding the president and his administration's use/ misuse of power, I am saddened at the lack of public outcry. The present executive branch of government seems to do as it pleases. Where are the backbones of our judicial and congressional representatives?

Most appalling to me are the unilateral decisions by the attorney general of when constitutional protections apply and when they do not. Seems to me, either we should have these or change the constitution by amendment.

Most eligible voters choose not to vote -- the argument could be made that the nation deserves what it gets until more citizens get involved in the elective process. With elections less than a year away, it seems a forgone conclusion that we are going to have another four years of Bush II.

What sort of wake-up call does the nation need? Another King George III?
