Slot maker to debut machines

Alliance Gaming Corp.'s Bally Gaming and Systems unit expects to unveil about 110 new slot machines at the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas Sept. 16-18.

The new games will include a series of slots based on the "Saturday Night Live" television show. Games will feature SNL stars Dan Aykroyd, Dana Carvey, Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Adam Sandler and Mike Meyers.

Bally has also created a new wide-area progressive jackpot machine called "Quartermillions" that gives quarter slot players a shot at a jackpot that resets at $250,000.

New games also are planned under the company's "Cash For Life" progressive jackpot game, which offers a top prize of $1,000 a week for life.

New licensed theme machines include games based on the "Felix the Cat" and "L'il Abner" cartoons as well as nostalgia brand S&H Green Stamps and the popular television show "Iron Chef."

A new line of extra-large machines, called the "Big Series," is planned featuring oversized spinning reels.

Several new versions of the company's "Playboy" theme slot also are planned.
