Jack Bowsher

Jack Bowsher, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 7, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired retail salesman, a former owner of Southwest Cleaning Systems, a former board president of First Church of Religious Science and a member of The Groundshaker Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Cheryl Bowsher and Jane Claire Smith, two sons, Jerry Bowsher and Christopher Smith, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, James Bowsher and Chester Bowsher; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Percy Burns

Percy Burns, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 27, 1930, in Jackson, Miss. He was a retired hotel porter and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Jessie Windom, and one brother, Willie Burns, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

May Josephine DeShazer

May Josephine DeShazer, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Pierce City, Mo. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ernest; one daughter, Linda Palen of Las Vegas; two sons, William DeShazer of Las Vegas and Gary DeShazer of Houston; one sister, Dorothy Wamsley of Gladstone, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home with burial following at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Annie Bell Galtney

Annie Bell Galtney, 86, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 16, 1916. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Buddy Galtney of Laughlin, Glen Galtney of Las Vegas and Brad Galtney of San Diego; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Immanuel Baptist Church, 805 Bartlett Ave. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Fred Graham

Fred Graham, 82, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. He was born Sept. 8, 1920, in Superior, Ariz. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired diesel mechanic, a World War II Navy veteran a member of the Elks, the Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, June; one daughter, Christina Conner, one son Steven Graham, both of Henderson and one stepson Robert Reddick of Pahrump; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson is handling arrangements.

Ellis M. "Bud" Haire

Ellis M. 'Bud' Haire, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 9, 1918, in Moscow, Idaho. A resident for 18 years he was an electronics parts inspector and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Richard Haire of Las Vegas; one daughter, Diana Strack of Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

William Edward Hoppe

William Edward Hoppe, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 30, 1928, in Milwaukee. A resident for 48 years, he was owner of a real estate agency and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Audrey; two sons, Craig Hoppe of Las Vegas and Douglas Hoppe of San Jose, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

James A. Kroes

James A. Kroes, 61, of Boulder City died Sunday in Boulder City. He was born Nov. 27, 1941, in Racine, Wis. A resident for five months, he worked at Good Humor-Breyer's Ice Cream in Henderson, he was a Vietnam War Army veteran, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by one brother, Larry Kroes of Wisconsin; three sisters, Sue Mosher of Wisconsin and Mary Ellen Kroes and Janet Miller, both of Boulder City.

No local services are scheduled. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, is handling arrangements.

Alfred John Lacy

Alfred John Lacy, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 16, 1928, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired Air Force tech sergeant, a Vietnam War and Korean War veteran, a member of the Masons, American Legion and the Red Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; one son, Michael Lacy of Denver; one stepdaughter, Candice Y. Lang of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bunker Mortuary with burial following in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jerry Francis Pierson

Jerry Francis Pierson, 64, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 18, 1939, in Chicago. A resident for five years, he was a police officer.

He is survived by a cousin, Rita Lewis of Chicago.

Kathleen M. Quigley

Kathleen M. Quigley, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born March 15, 1950, in Chillicothe, Ohio. A resident for two years, she was an accountant.

She is survived by one daughter, Katie Quigley of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; one son, Kenny Quigley of Modesto, Calif.; her mother, Kathleen E. McCarren of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Maureen Rodriguez of Simi Valley, Calif. and Terrie McCarren of Las Vegas.

Rueben G. Raabe

Rueben G. Raabe, 74, of Las Vegas died Aug. 2 in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Reeseville, Wis. A resident for nine years, he was a retired worker for Waukesha Engine for 22 years, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Machinists Union.

He is survived by one son, John Raabe, one daughter, Laurie Dahlke, both of Watertown, Wis.; two sisters, Jean Umland of Beaver Dam, Wis. and Loraine Neis of Burnett, Wis.; and nine grandchildren.

Cleora Theresa Reynolds

Cleora Theresa Reynolds, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Florida. A resident for several years, she was a maid.

She is survived by one son, Lymon G. Reynolds; and one daughter, Shirley Cavitt.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Lynn Serdoz

Lynn Serdoz, 56, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1946, in Chicago. A resident for 12 years, she was a sports marketing circulation supervisor.

She is survived by her husband, Dick; two daughters, Trish Eakin and Tracy Schwob, both of Las Vegas; six sons, Christopher Robinson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ritchie Serdoz of Vancouver, Wash., Richard Serdoz, Michael Serdoz, Robert Serdoz and Joseph Serdoz, all of Las Vegas; and 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. services Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jim L. Shetakis

Jim L. Shetakis, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Hannah, Wyo. He was a retired owner of Shetakis Wholesales Inc. and a World War II Army Air Corp B-17 tailgunner.

He is survived by his wife, Viive, and one son, Jimmy Shetakis.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road. Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. is handling arrangements.

Michael Louis Taylor

Michael Louis Taylor, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born July 26, 1956, in Kankakee, Ill. He was a retired North Las Vegas detention officer and a representative for Bob Olson Insurance.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Mary Iliev of Nevada and Michelle Taylor of Texas; his parents, Chester and Barbara Taylor of Illinois; two sisters, Patricia Nevlin of Arizona and Peggy Taylor of Illinois; one brother, David Taylor of Illinois; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, with services following. Burial will be at Boulder City Cemetery. Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, SuiteOB 1, Boulder City, is handling arrangements.
