Artist sought for Winnemucca statue

The Sarah Winnemucca Statue Selection Committee is looking for an artist to create the bronze sculpture of Sarah Winnemucca that will represent Nevada in the Capitol's National Statuary Hall in Washington.
A request for proposals inviting artists to participate in an open competition to design, fabricate and install the statue was issued. The deadline to submit proposals to the State Purchasing Department is 2 p.m. Sept. 8.
