Consumer sessions set for rate increase request
Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 | 10:43 a.m.
The state Public Utilities Commission has scheduled two Aug. 11 consumer sessions to allow customers a chance to chime in on Southwest Gas Corp.'s request for a $26.2 million rate increase.
The first session will be at 2 p.m. at the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave. The next session will be at 6 p.m. at the Winchester Community Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive. Formal regulatory hearings on the request are expected to begin Oct. 1.
Testimony from the consumer sessions is expected to be critical in the commission's review of a related proposal from Southwest Gas to allow increased gas costs to be collected on a rolling monthly average.
