Puppet show

The North Las Vegas Library District Summer Reading Club brings its season to a close with a puppet show at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the library's main branch, 2300 Civic Center Drive. The event is free. 633-1070.

Free classes

Award-winning museum artist Christie Milo will teach a series of free classes on techniques of the masters at the following locations this week. All classes are day-long. To reserve a space, call 614-3093:

Free movie

The Clark County Parks and Community Services Department presents a free movie at 8:30 p.m. today at Mountain Crest Park, near the intersection of Loen Mountain and Durango Road. Bring picnic baskets, blankets and short lawn chairs, but no pets or alcohol please. 455-8278.

Acting workshops

The New City Theatre, 2900 Patrick Lane, is offering free acting workshops for those over the age of 18 from 1-3 p.m. every Saturday. 547-1228.

Drama workshop

Sculpture contest

Entries are being accepted for a sculpture contest held by the Pulidor Foundation/Spirit of the Nations, in preparation for its second annual Native American Arts & International Film Festival from Nov. 14-16.
