Boy says camp will help him be helpful

One would-be camper says a scholarship for this summer would help him get ready for the sixth grade.

"I will do my best to be helpful, happy and friendly," he writes, and he promises to help other students think about going to camp next year.

"That's why I should be chosen to go to this camp," he writes.

He and other children whose families otherwise could not afford to send them to camp will have the experience this year because of scholarship money provided by the Sun Summer Camp Fund. All donations go directly to camperships. The administrative costs are paid by the Las Vegas Sun.
