Las Vegas sets Easter egg hunts

Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services will host Easter egg hunts Friday and Saturday in each of the city's wards.

Ward 1: Walking age to 10 years old, 10 a.m. Friday at the Charleston Heights Community School, 300 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Call 878-8644.

Ward 2: Walking age to 8 years old, 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson Community School, 340 Villa Monterey. Call 229-6175.

Ward 3: Walking age to 9 years old, 10 a.m. Saturday at Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave. Call 459-0201.

Project Challenge seeking applicants

Nevada Project Challenge, a residential youth at-risk program, is seeking male and female applicants ages 16-18 for its July through December semester.

The program, which includes a five-month residential program conducted in a military environment followed by one year of post-residential mentoring, focuses on developing discipline and responsibility to provide graduates the basic education and social skills needed for success in life.

There is no cost or military obligation to students of families who enroll in Project Challenge.
