Letter: Issue transcends Blue Diamond
Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002 | 9:37 a.m.
Thursday night's Planning Commission meeting was a disappointment for several reasons.
The developer's request for delay was lame -- the company used the excuse that it needed more time to meet with the citizens of Blue Diamond.
Would everyone please wake up? This is not a Blue Diamond issue. Attendees came from all parts of the county, just in case the item was heard.
And the commissioners shouldn't categorize all attendees as "protesters." I was further insulted when one of the commissioners said that we would have a chance to be heard on Oct. 3, and then condescendingly added that we better not be repetitious.
As a resident of Clark County, I have the right to express my viewpoints, regardless of how unsophisticated they might be.
I don't have the luxury of spending hours researching, unlike the developer's paid staff.
