A man shot Friday morning while sitting in his car at a Las Vegas apartment complex was identified this morning as Mario Gerald Mitchell, 27, of an unknown address.
Mitchell managed to drive away from the parking lot of the Town and Country Manor, an apartment complex at 4311 Boulder Highway, after several shots were fired at the car.
Mitchell drove about a quarter-mile before the car hit a pole at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway, struck some cars and went over the embankment in front of Sportsman's Royal Manor, a studio apartment house, police said.
He was found dead in the car, but rescuers also found two children in the car unharmed: an infant in the front passenger seat strapped in a child's car seat and a toddler in the back seat.
The incident remains under investigation.
