CARSON CITY -- As the Nov. 5 election nears, Gov. Kenny Guinn says he's not going to do much personal campaigning but plans to spend more time on his job as governor.
He recently authorized $500,000 in television, radio and billboard advertisements, saying the polls show him 40 points in front of his Democratic challenger, Sen. Joe Neal, D-Las Vegas.
Neal questioned Guinn's spending $500,000 on media if he believes he is so far ahead with a few weeks left in the campaign.
There are no debates scheduled between the two.
Guinn has collected about $2.9 million and he won't be holding any more fund-raising events.
Guinn also said he has limited his campaigning on behalf of others. He said he has filmed some television shots for Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt and state Treasurer Brian Krolicki.
