Incumbent Democrat Bob Coffin, 60, faces newcomer Daniel Guinn, a 66-year-old Republican.
Coffin is an antiquarian book dealer and insurance broker who has been in the Senate for 10 sessions.
Guinn is a buyer for the Community College of Southern Nevada who cites education and senior issues as his top concerns. He is not related to Gov. Kenny Guinn.
