Election 2002: Assembly District 29

Republican Josh Griffin faces Democrat Stan Dreyfuss and Independent American Justin Ramsaier for the Green Valley district seat.

Griffin, 31, a small-business owner, says he will work to ensure spending efficiencies are met before supporting any proposed taxes. He wants flexibility in health care policy to increase availability and lower costs.

Griffin wants to identify more resources for classrooms to improve the quality of education. He was deputy campaign manager for Gov. Kenny Guinn in 1998.

Dreyfuss, 77, a retired businessman with experience ranging from plant management to union negotiations to purchasing, wants to set better priorities for budgets to emphasize education needs. He also wants to provide affordable prescription drugs to seniors.

Ramsaier did not respond to the Sun's requests for information.

There are more than 22,000 registered voters in the district. Among them are more than 9,100 Republicans and more than 8,700 Democrats.
