Las Vegas Area Fishing Report

NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE

For Oct. 11, 2002

Shore anglers fishing the coves of Echo Bay were successful landing stripers and catfish. Anchovies landed the stripers and night crawlers were the best bait for the catfish. Both fish averaged 13-14 inches.

Boaters fishing in the area of the intake tower near the Lake Mead marina landed stripers that measured 19 inches and weighed in at three pounds. Anchovies landed the fish.

NDOW's rainbow trout plants continue on Fridays. The trout tend to head for deep water after the release.

The weed growth around Haymeadow Reservoir continues to make access difficult for shore anglers, but they are still landing trout that average 15 inches. NDOW will stock the reservoir with 21,000 trout this week.
