Points of Light Awards to be held Thursday

The Nevada Commission for National and Community Service Inc. will host the annual Governor's Points of Light Awards at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Stardust.

The awards recognize individuals from northern, southern, and rural Nevada as well as one nonprofit agency and one corporation for its dedication, commitment, and determination in promoting and supporting volunteerism. Call (775) 423-1461.

The Anti-Defamation League

will hold a community briefing on the Middle East 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Venetian in Casanova Room 501. It will feature Kenneth Jacobson, the league's senior associate national director and director of international affairs. The event is free. For more information call 862-8600.
