MONTVILLE, Conn. -- A Mohegan Sun employee walking to work Friday night was fatally struck by a vehicle in an area where many casino workers walk to and from their jobs.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Route 32 and New London Turnpike, near a Mohegan Sun entrance.
The area has no sidewalks, and many casino workers walk along the road's shoulder. The area is lit by a single street lamp, and cars often speed down the hill on Route 32.
It has been the site of three accidents involving injuries in the last month, and police said have been concerned about the number of pedestrians on the road.
Juan Chang was struck just before 10 p.m. Friday by a Jeep Cherokee registered to the Mohegan Tribe and driven by a Mohegan tribal security officer. Police said there was no indication the driver was at fault.
