Lindo Michoacan, a Mexican restaurant on Desert Inn Road near Eastern Avenue, suffered $200,000 in fire damage Thursday morning, the Clark County Fire Department said. No one was injured in the blaze.
The fire in the restaurant at 2655 Desert Inn Road started about 5:30 a.m. in the kitchen and was accidental, fire department spokesman Bob Leinbach said. A fryer was left on the stove and it overheated, he said.
Luckily, Leinbach said, a fire station is located near the restaurant at Topaz Street and Desert Inn Road, and the quick response prevented the restaurant from being a total loss.
The restaurant will be closed while repairs are made, officials said.
