Harrah's Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas sued to stop a Yahoo! subscriber from making defamatory statements about the casino giant, allegedly to manipulate its stock price.
The subscriber, whom Harrah's did not name in its Clark County District Court lawsuit, is said to regularly contribute to Harrah's message board on the Yahoo! Finance webpage under the name "hanslee99."
The subscriber allegedly published false and defamatory information on Harrah's message board including messages accusing Harrah's of "financial impropriety, intentionally misstating its revenues and engaging in fraud."
The subscriber could not be reached for comment on Harrah's allegations.
