CARSON CITY -- Gov. Kenny Guinn today announced the appointment of Lee Plotkin of Las Vegas to a three-year term on the state Equal Rights Commission.
Plotkin succeeds Sam Smith. Guinn also reappointed Aileen Martin of Sparks and Anita Laruy of Las Vegas to new terms.
Plotkin is executive director of the National Conference for Community and Justice, formerly the National Conference of Christian and Jews.
"Lee has worked with law enforcement agencies to help educate them about multicultural issues, dealing with hate crimes and other diverse issues," Guinn said. "Because of this and other endeavors he has taken on both locally and nationally, I have confidence he will be a great asset to the Equal Rights Commission."
