Yelena Yela Aellig

Yelena Yela Aellig, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Sarajevo, Bosnia. A resident for 28 years, she was an employee at the Tropicana hotel-casino and a member of Culinary Union 226.

She is survived by her aunt, Violet Suart of Las Vegas.

Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Alexandra Z. Allred

Alexandra Z. Allred, 92, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born March 26, 1910, in Harbin, China. A resident for many years, she worked in accounting.

She is survived by one son, William Allred of Henderson; and one sister, Helen Godal.

No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Irene H. Arce

Irene H. Arce, 40, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 20, 1962, in Los Angeles. A resident for nine years, she was a preschool teacher at a daycare center.

She is survived by one daughter, Myriam Arce, her parents, Julio and Sonia Cadiz, one brother, David Cadiz, and two grandsons, Christian McWhorter and Garrett McWhorter, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Amelia Virginia Controquerra

Amelia Virginia Controquerra, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. A homemaker, she was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, Camill; one son, Richard Reinard, and one daughter, Diane Reinard, both of Henderson; three brothers, Anthony Costantini and John Costantini, both of Ohio and Carmen Costantini of West Virginia; one sister, Lillian Colaiacovo of Ohio; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be noon Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Sonya Lee Denison

Sonya Lee Denison, 50, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 2, 1952, in Los Angeles. A resident for 15 years, she was a telephone operator.

She is survived by one daughter, Natalie Denison, and one son, Matthew Denison, both of Reno; her father, Reaph Barzekoff, and one brother, Wayne Barzekoff, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

David T. Domagala

David T. Domagala, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 2, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 10 years, he was a slot mechanic for Anchor Coin (IGT), a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by one daughter, Kristi Soller of Temperance, Mich.; his parents, Stephen and Virginia Domagala of Las Vegas; two brothers, Steven Domagala of Las Vegas and Joseph Domagala of Stephen City, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Chapel.

Donald G. Dommer

Donald G. Dommer, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for four years, he was a retired department store manager and hardware clerk and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; two daughters, Paula Dommer-Fox and Laurie Freeman, both of Cathedral City, Calif.; one sister, Gloria Helmicki of Buffalo; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Elizabeth Hartley

Elizabeth Hartley, 86, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Ohio. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Tackett of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Mansfield, Ohio. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Joyce A. Kendall

Joyce A. Kendall, 63, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 20, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa. A resident for two years, she was a retired tax preparer.

She is survived by her companion, Joe Estrada of Las Vegas; three daughters, Debbie Benavidez of Bakersfield, Calif., Donna Nicholson of Davenport, Iowa, and Delaina Lawson of Olalla, Wash.; two sons, Larry Kendall and Gary Kendall, both of Davenport; and her stepmother, Helen Machalek of Coal Valley, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ursula Landau

Ursula Landau, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Las Vegas. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker and a member of Los Prados Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Helmut; one daughter, Karin Landau of Las Vegas; one son, Donald Landau of New York; one brother, Hans Rost, and one sister, Maria Rost, both of Germany; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Mortuary, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Services will be noon Saturday in Memory Gardens Chapel. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Phyllis M. Logan

Phyllis M. Logan, 62, of Tonopah died Sunday in Tonopah. She was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Tonopah. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker, a member of Beta Sigma Phi and St. Patrick's Catholic Church Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Donald F.; one son, Donald R. Logan, and one daughter, Julie Anne Logan, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Timothy Lydon of Tonopah; and one grandchild.

Mass was celebrated 11 a.m. today in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Tonopah. Burial followed in Tonopah Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., handled arrangements.

Thomas J. Maddalena

Thomas J. Maddalena, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born April 27, 1925, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a trucking company owner and a World War II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn; three sons, Joseph and Jimmy, both of Las Vegas and Roger of Boston; three daughters, Joan Steck, Diane Miceli and Linda Maddalena, all of New York City; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson. Burial will be in Putnam, N.Y.

Thomas Anthony Owens

Thomas Anthony Owens, 17, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 15, 1984, in Hampton, Va. A resident for eight years, he was a student.

He is survived by his parents, Patrick W. and Donna Owens, his companion, Jessica Najera, and one sister, Katherine Owens, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9 a.m. Monday in Full Gospel Korean Church, 1500 Bledsoe Lane. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Lloyd I. Pennock Sr.

Lloyd I. Pennock Sr., 97, of Pahrump died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1904, in Turlock, Calif. A resident for seven years, he was a self-employed electrician.

He is survived by his wife, Julia; three sons, Lloyd Pennock Jr. of Las Vegas, James O. Pennock of Bayonet Point, Fla., and William Robert Pennock of Santa Paul, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.
