John A. Bennett

John A. Bennett, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 21, 1923, in Mound, Ill. A resident for two years, he was a retired electronics engineer, a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, past member of the Masons and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Marie H.; one son, Ralph Bennett of Las Vegas; one sister, Lois Martin of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Margaret Bergin

Margaret Bergin, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born June 3, 1914, in New Jersey. A resident for 58 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Gerry Smiley of LaCrescenta, Calif., Mary Heinrichs of Las Vegas and Karen Feddema of Wenatchee, Wash.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest, 5701 N. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Wanda Mae Brown

Wanda Mae Brown, 70, of Caliente, died Dec. 23. She was born July 23, 1950, in Prescott, Ariz. A former resident of Henderson, Boulder City and Las Vegas, she was past president of the Hoe and Grow Garden Club, a member of the Eastern Star, active in the March of Dimes and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Carl; two daughters, Carlanda Williamson of Boulder City and Carlene Southworth of Las Vegas; one brother, Fred Leonard of Boulder City; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

La Priel Strong Bunker

La Priel Strong Bunker, 96, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Provo, Utah. A resident for 79 years, she was born April 22, 1905, in Salt Lake City.

She is survived by four sons, B. Allen Bunker of Mesa, Ariz., Douglas R. Bunker of Buffalo, N.Y., Gary L. Bunker of Orem, Utah, and David S. Bunker of Henderson; 20 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Utah. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jack Arthur Carey

Jack Arthur Carey, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Wyoming. A resident for 10 years, he was a service department manager for an automobile dealership and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Ernie Carey; and one sister, Ruth Helen Carey-Fleming.

Juanita Mae Cathers

Juanita Mae Cathers, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1926, in Princeton, W.Va. A resident for 46 years, she was a retired sales manager.

She is survived by four daughters, Millie Benhan of Los Alamos, N.M., Marilyn Yantze of Columbus, Ohio, and Shirley Strow and Margaret Wilgar, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Charles Belcher and Samuel Belcher, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Geneieve Moore of Reynoldsburg; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Sharon Cuellar

Sharon Cuellar, 51, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Las Vegas. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired clerk for the county Election Board.

She is survived by her husband, Juan; four daughters, Ana Walton of Carthage, Texas, Diann Cuellar and Elizabeth Spencer, both of Las Vegas, and Veronica Evans of Henderson; one son, Juan C. Cuellar of Carthage; her parents, James C. and Margaret L. Bainbridge of Ruth; five brothers, Joe Bainbridge of Henderson, James Bainbridge of Marysville, Wash., Jerry Bainbridge and Jeff Bainbridge, both of Ely, and John Bainbridge of Spring Creek; and 21 grandchildren.

William James Dennie Jr.

William James Dennie Jr., 61, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Tennessee. A resident for 44 years, he was a janitorial worker for Hughes Aircraft, an Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10057.

He is survived by his mother, Bennie Lee Dennie; one brother, Robert Leroy Dennie; and one sister, Armida Louise Dennie.

Icella Mae Hines

Icella Mae Hines, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 24, 1924, in Texas. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Saretta Martin of Las Vegas and Vivian Hutcheson of Pittsburg, Calif.; three sons, Jerry Edwards of Las Vegas, Lonell Chattmon of San Jose, Calif., and Joe Hutcheson of Pittsburg; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jerith Rae Huskins, 56, of Las Vegas died Nov. 27 in Las Vegas. An office manager for an automobile firm, she was born April 10, 1945, in Waterloo, Iowa.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorinda Ellen Coronado of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Josephine P. Kenslow

Josephine P. Kenslow, 65, of Casper, Wyo., died Tuesday. She was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Rochester, N.Y. A former Las Vegas resident for many years, she was a retired grade school teacher, a member of the Las Vegas High School Choraletts 1950-1954, a member of the Melotones and was a member and founder of the Las Vegas chapter of the Head Injury Association.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey P. Dixon of Casper and Robin G. Dixon of Auburn, Wash.; one daughter, Kelliann H. Dixon of Kent, Wash.; her mother, Maudie Tubiolo, and two sisters, Serenia J. Stephens and Joan Ferguson, all of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren.

Burrel G. "Kirk" Kirkman, 69, of Pahrump died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 26, 1932, in Visalia, Calif. A resident for nine years, he was an electrician at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; one son, Michael Kirkman of Oceanside, Calif.; two daughters, Michele Kirkman of Fairbanks and Sheri Watkins of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; one sister, Charlotte Robbins of Sacramento; and three grandchildren.

Kenneth J. Lincoln

Kenneth J. Lincoln, 61, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 4, 1940, in Texas. A resident for three years, he was a retired lawyer and business consultant, a member of the Phoenix Ski Club, Rocky Mountain Ski Association and Castle Foundation of Phoenix.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; one son, Peter A. Lincoln of Houston; and two sisters, Karen Lincoln and Frances Lincoln Murrell, both of Glendale, Ariz.

David S. Maritt, 46, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born March 28, 1955, in Cleveland. A resident for eight years, he was a marketing senior vice president.

He is survived by one son, Dominic Maritt of Louisville, Ky.; his parents, Sally and S. John Maritt of Estero, Fla.; and three sisters, Sandy Merritt of Louisville and Cecile Vogler and Cheryl Bogenschutz, both of Cincinnati.

George V. Mauro, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Maspeth, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired police officer for the railroad and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margie; one brother, Joseph Mauro of Maspeth; two sisters, Susan Fjellman of Jamaica, N.Y., and Janie Ruggerio of Atlanta.

Consuelo Mautner, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 3, 1921, in Del Rio, Texas. A resident for nine years, she was a teller.

She is survived by her husband, David; three sons, Joe R. Gonzalez of Anaheim, Calif., and David A. Gonzalez and Gilbert Gonzalez, both of Las Vegas; three daughters, Mary Ann Rojas of Las Vegas, Roselee Von Gisen of San Diego and Hope Watcharaprecha of Thailand; five brothers, Benita Romeros of Oklahoma and Eduardo Romeros, Joe Romeros, Juan Romeros and Sanome Romeros, all of Texas; three sisters, Beta Garcia of Arizona and Mary Ann Deltoro and Eva Romeros, both of Texas; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Enrico Medini, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1934, in England. A resident for 40 years, he was a steward.

He is survived by one sister, Audrey Arno of Las Vegas.

Frank Nascimento

Frank Nascimento, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1940, in Hilo, Hawaii. A resident for four years, he was a retired musician, a Navy veteran, a member of the Teamsters Union and Musicians Union.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, Donald Nascimento and Paul Nascimento, both of Los Angeles; two stepdaughters, Sandy Morgart of Charlotte, N.C., and Hannah West of Los Angeles; four brothers, Jerry Nascimento of California and Clay Mendonca, Tommy Foster and Michael Foster, all of Hawaii; one sister, C.J. Kodani of Hawaii; and two grandchildren.

Viola Mae Sylvester, 86, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born May 27, 1921, in Canada. A resident for six years, she was a registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Helmuth; one son, Delvin J. Sylvester of Maplewood, Mo.; one daughter, Gloria Bruning of Henderson; one brother, Raymond Sagness, and one sister, Elvina, both of Manitoba.

Reagen Tiberi, 39, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1962, in Reno. A lifelong Nevada resident, he was a pool repairman.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Deborah Crosby of Brandon, S.D., Cynde Ayars of Shreveport, La., and Kelly Moriarty of Las Vegas; two sons, William Ulrey and Ken Ulrey, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, William Witt of Ducor, Calif., Charles Witt of Lakewood, Calif., and Wayne Price of Reno; two sisters, Jeanette Greenwood of Kansas City, Mo., and Sandra Price of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.

Joseph J. Varesi, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1923, in Madison, Wis. A resident for 15 years, he was a warehouseman, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Italian Workman's Club in Madison, Wis.

He is survived by his wife, Adele A.; two sons, Joseph Varesi of Belvidere, Ill., and Steve Varesi of Oregon, Wis.; six daughters, Rosaria Devlin of Las Vegas, Patricia Schulenberg, JoAnn Storkson and Stacy Ball, all of Madison, Linda Way of New Glarus, Wis., and Debbie Krause of Janesville, Wis.; one brother, Steve Varesi, and two sisters, Conchera Troia and Frances Bordson, all of Madison; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two sisters, Varicie Davis of Nevada and Cedla "Emma" Clayton of Ohio.

Jimmy Walters, 70, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 23, 1931, in Zepher, Fla. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by four sons, James Walters of California, David Walters of Mesa, Ariz., Paul Walters of Alabama and Joseph Walters of Las Vegas; and one daughter, Beverly Huggett of Tucson.

He is survived by one son, Donald Woods of Florida; two daughters, Elaine Cotter of Pennsylvania and Barbara Cycan of New York state; two brothers, Thomas Carpino of Florida and James Shanley of Virginia; and two grandchildren.
