Las Vegas broadcast ads pulled

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has canceled broadcast advertising in the wake of the terrorism tragedy in New York and Washington.
Rob Powers, a spokesman for the LVCVA, said the city's marketing agency has suspended all broadcast advertising until further notice.
"We just don't think it's appropriate (to advertise) at this time," said Powers, who said television and radio ad purchases in domestic markets would be pulled. No figures were available on how much the LVCVA would have spent.
Print ads in domestic and foreign markets probably would not be affected, Powers said, since they either have already been printed or will appear weeks from now. He said the LVCVA doesn't use broadcast advertising overseas.
