The Bureau of Land Management is inviting Nevada residents to examine a management plan designed for the next 20 years for about 2 million BLM acres withdrawn for military use.
The land is located in Clark, Nye and Lincoln counties. Although BLM parcels are usually open to many uses, in the case of these lands, military activities restrict some users, such as recreational ones.
The lands including the Nellis Air Force Test and Training Range and two areas bordering the Desert National Wildlife Range. The most important issue of the several that will be examined is managing wild horses, the BLM's draft plan said.
Several public meetings have been scheduled. Each of them begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.
Nov. 27, Pahrump, Bob Rudd Community Center.
Nov. 29, Beatty, Beatty Community Center.
Dec. 4, Alamo, New High School Multi-purpose Room.
Dec. 6, BLM Las Vegas Field Office, 4765 West Vegas Drive.
