American Pacific Corp., the Las Vegas-based chemical manufacturer that operates a plant in Cedar City, Utah, reported profits, before extraordinary losses, of $1.1 million, or 16 cents per diluted share for the second quarter, ended March 31.
That compared to $1.2 million, or 16 cents per diluted share, in the comparable quarter last year. After an extraordinary loss on debt extinguishment of $600,000, net income was $600,000 or 8 cents per diluted share for the second quarter of 2000.
The company today reported a decrease in sales of $1.5 million, or 9 percent, in the recently ended second quarter compared to the same quarter last year. Sales were $14.8 million during the second quarter, compared with $16.3 million during the same period last year.
