George Adams

George Adams, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 26, 1923, in Scotland. A resident for 26 years, he was a glazer in the manufacturing industry and a veteran of the British Royals.

He is survived by his wife, Patrice Joyce; four daughters, Patricia Eiferd, Linda Adams, Suzan Donavan and Druscilla Adams; one brother, Richard; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Edna Barber

Edna Barber, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 26, 1909, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 50 years, she was a retired Las Vegas Review-Journal proofreader.

She is survived by one son, Leonard Barber of Phoenix; two daughters, Joyce Watson of La Mesa, Calif., and Carole Saul of Santa Ana, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Richard Bassett

Richard Bassett, 52, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born July 13, 1948, in Lawrence, Mass. A resident for five years, he was a purchasing agent for the Clark County School District.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two sons, Randon Bassett and Ryan Bassett, and one brother, Robert Bassett, all of California.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Clarethel Beatty

Clarethel Beatty, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 27, 1918, in Yerington. A lifelong resident of Nevada, she was a bookkeeper for a credit reporting firm, a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority PEO Chapter G and Las Vegas Junior League.

She is survived by her husband, R. Norrison; one son, Richard Beatty of Las Vegas; one daughter, Marcia Nicholas of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Rachel Gibson of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 Maryland Parkway. Burial will be in Christ Church Columbarium. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Tom 'Sarge' Blevins

Tom "Sarge" Blevins, 56, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 17, 1944, in West Virginia. A resident for 34 years, he was in the automotive industry and a retired Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; two daughters, Jacqueline Laurie and Denise Boyd, both of Las Vegas.

Private services were held by Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Floyd Elmer Burger

Floyd Elmer Burger, 89, of Pahrump died Wednesday in Pahrump. He was born March 26, 1911, in Oologah, Okla. A resident for 20 years, he was a welder for 27 years and a member of Operating Engineers Local 3.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda "Ted" in 1988; two sons, James in 1944 and Wayne in 1998; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Phillip Burger of Fallon; five daughters, Winona Stokes of Vallejo, Calif., Juanita Hutchison and Diane Burger, both of Las Vegas, Elizabeth Metzger of Pahrump and Anne Bassett of Springfield, Mo.; 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. March 9 in Chief Tecopa Cemetery, Pahrump. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Anna Cangialosi

Anna Cangialosi, 86, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 20 years, she was born May 18, 1914, in Italy.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Schneider and Viola Schwallier, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Ida Mae Manuel Carter

Ida Mae Manuel Carter, 88, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 11, 1912, in Shubuta, Miss. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker and on the deaconess board at Church of God in Christ.

She is survived by her caregiver, granddaughter Beverly Street, and one sister, Sadie Spencer, both of Las Vegas Las Vegas; 13 other grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 1117 F St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Thomas E. Christie

Thomas E. Christie, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Montana. A resident for 15 years, he was a PBX repairman for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years, a Navy veteran, a member of the Cribbage Club, Computer Club and Navy Mine Layers, a lifelong member of the Masons and chaplain of the Mine Warfare.

He is survived by his wife, Velma; one son, Tim Douglas Christie; one daughter, Vickie Christie; one brother, Charles Christie; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

George W. Fox

George W. Fox, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Brighton, Tenn. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired aircraft mechanic and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. Nathaniel M. Brown of Elk Grove, Calif., and Gordon Ray Fox of San Diego; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 11:30 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Sally Sadako Kato and Yoshio Kato

Sally Sadako Kato, 75, and Yoshio Kato, 82, both of Las Vegas, died Sunday in Las Vegas. Sally was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Kobe, Japan. Yoshio was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Hawaii. Both residents for two years, Sally was a retired travel clerk and Yoshio was a retired World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

They are survived by two daughters, Rae Pattison and Grace Kato, both of Las Vegas.

Services are scheduled 9:30 a.m. March 7 in Central Christian Church. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. March 7 in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Elizabeth Maxey

Elizabeth Maxey, 77, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Columbus County, Ark. A resident for 46 years, she was a retired school crossing guard.

She is survived by four daughters, Dorothy Mitchum of Rockdale, Texas, and Erma Gray, Lillian Lide and Lela Daniels, all of Las Vegas; four sons, Joe S. Maxey of California and Ezrah C. Maxey, Marvin Maxey and Melvin Maxey, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Lela Branch of Mount Holly, Ark.; 32 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Downtown. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Andrew 'Duke' Palmer

Andrew "Duke" Palmer, 40, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 9, 1960, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 31 years, he was a cook at Uncle Ben's and worked at the Greater Nevada Auto Auction.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Stowe Palmer; two sons, Bruce Stowe and LaDor Hopkins, one daughter, Tanjel Stowe, his mother, Ora Lee Palmer, three brothers, Eugene Palmer, Joseph Palmer and Andre Loper, and two sisters, Ora Mae Washington and Barbara Adams, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in True Love Missionary Baptist Church, 1941 N. H St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Gene Panattoni

Gene Panattoni, 68, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Washington state. A resident for nine months, he was a construction superintendent and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sally M.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Ellenburg, Wash. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Gene Ramirez

Gene Ramirez, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born March 22, 1913, in Chicago. A resident for 48 years, she was a retired waitress.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Graveside services will follow Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Florance 'Granny' Reed

Florance "Granny" Reed, 66, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Delhi, La. A resident for 45 years, she was a hotel guest-room attendant.

She is survived by five sons, David Reed, James Reed, Leonard Reed, Marshall Reed and Michael Reed, five daughters, Margaret Dodd, Flora Turner, Shirley Reed, Connie Semper and Lora Proctor, and one brother, Willie Hendon, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, May Day and Rosie Hendon, both of Louisiana; 42 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Portals to Glory Church of God in Christ, 2301 Comstock Drive. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Roberta Kay Reneau

Roberta Kay Reneau, 57, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. A reporter for the Medford Mail Tribune, she was born June 4, 1943, in McMinniville, Ore.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; one son, Thomas Reneau of Sioux Falls, S.D.; her mother, Velda Stephenson of Grants Pass, Ore.; and two brothers, Gordon Stephenson of Grants Pass and Roger Stephenson of Fairbanks, Alaska.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Oregon. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

H. Susan Roberson

H. Susan Roberson, 47, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 26, 1953, in Greensboro, N.C. She was a resident for 19 years.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth.

Services will be 6 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Greensboro, N.C.

Lee Ann Tuttle

Lee Ann Tuttle, 36, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. A resident for 16 years, she was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; two sons, Dustin Gilpin of Las Vegas and John Grieves of McAlester, Okla.; three daughters, Debbie Grieves of Atlanta, Michelle Grieves and Tia Grieves, both of McAlester; her mother, Cathy Gilpin of Las Vegas; one brother, Drew Worthy of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Kristine Gilpin of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Milissa Gilpin of Las Vegas.

Clara Jane Waugh, 92, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 29, 1908, in Wiarton, Ontario. A resident for five years, she was a retired restaurant owner/operator.

She is survived by one daughter, Audrey C. Fay of North Las Vegas; two sisters, Olive Heimpel of Waterloo, Ontario, and Annie Hoy of Sault St. Marie, Ontario; one brother, Ivan Howe of Kitchener, Ontario; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in Advent United Methodist Church, 3460 N. Rancho Drive. The family suggests donations to Advent United Methodist Church, Organ Fund, 3460 N. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130 in her memory.
