Gudrun Babcock

Gudrun Babcock, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born April 2, 1933, in Sweden. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Babcock of Las Vegas and Karen of St. Louis; her mother, Ruth Johansson of Sweden; one brother, Gunnar of Mexico; and one sister, Gunnel of South Carolina.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Challenger School, 9900 Shiloh Lane. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity or church of choice.

Elon L. Belcher

Elon L. Belcher, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Ogden, Utah. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Daryl C.; two sons, Daryl P. Belcher of North Las Vegas and Larry R. Weeding of Ogden; eight daughters, Michelle Fitzgeorge of Henderson, Lesa Saunders, Katherine Belcher and Arieana Belcher, all of North Las Vegas, Brandi Bacon of Ogden, Elizabeth Perez of Las Vegas, Emilee Belcher of Patosi, Mo., and Stephanie Wurth of Layton, Utah; her father, Joe Compton of Yuma, Ariz.; one brother, Jay Compton of Portland, Ore.; three sisters, Carol Christenson of California, Judy Compton of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and JoAnn Compton of Reno; and 22 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in the LDS Civic Center and Tonopah Ward. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Carmela Lee Collins

Carmela Lee Collins, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 19, 1934, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for four years, she was a retired accountant for a steamship company.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas F.; three sons, Gerald F. Gardner of Ringgold, Ga., James Robert Gardner of St. Louis and Clifford C. Briggs Jr. of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one sister, Louanna Joyce Allen of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Cheyenne. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Thelma Davis

Thelma Davis, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born July 29, 1928, in Harrisburg, Ill. A resident for 21 years, she was a retired apartment complex assistant manager.

She is survived by one son, Gifford Turner of Las Vegas; two sisters, Margaret Orr of Carrier Mills, Ill., and Selma Bridge of Monticello, Ind.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Leonard James Eggers

Leonard James Eggers, 53, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 10, 1947, in Wendell, Idaho. A resident for six years, he was a commercial truck driver and a Vietnam War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie; five daughters, Rebecca Eggers of Westminster, Calif., Laura Eggers of Corona, Calif., Lynmarie Torres of Hemet, Calif., and Paige Grace and Stephanie Brown, both of Las Vegas; his father, Leonard Eggers, four brothers, Douglas Eggers, Joel Eggers, Jason Eggers and John Eggers, and two sisters, Barbara McGrath and Jolene Eggers, all of Idaho; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Wisdom Byzantine Catholic Church, 2120 Lindell Road. Services will be 5 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Wisdom. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Frank Galia

Frank Galia, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 26, 1928, in California. A resident for 31 years, he was a painter, a Coast Guard veteran and a member of Painters Local 159 for 31 years.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

George R. Goers

George R. Goers, 77, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Philadelphia. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired director of inspection for the Food and Drug Administration, a World War II Navy veteran and a graduate of Montana State University.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley S.; one daughter, Moira Goers of Boulder City; one son, Charles G. Goers Sr. of Minneapolis; one brother, Charles K. Goers of Worcester, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Montana State University Alumni Association in Missoula, Mont.

Jerry Gordon

Jerry Gordon, 63, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1938, in Washington state. A resident for three years, he was a lobbyist and a veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Carmel M.; and two daughters, Tina Retzer and Linda Daane, both of California.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Barbara 'Bunny' Grossman

Barbara "Bunny" Grossman, 66, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born April 24, 1935, in Camden, N.J. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired business manager in retail sales.

She is survived by her husband, Al; one daughter, Denise Brandon of San Jose, Calif.; and one sister, Leslie Michaels of Charlotte, N.C.

Latrelle 'Jay' Linson

Latrelle "Jay" Linson, 84, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 4, 1916, in Clarence, Mo. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired self-employed furniture refinisher and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Leanne Lindsey, and one son, Larry Linson, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Lester Linson of Zephyrville, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Neptune Society of Nevada, 3110 E. Sunset Road, Henderson, is arranging private services.

Goldie Margaret Melquist

Goldie Margaret Melquist, 93, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 5, 1907, in Minneapolis. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, William Melquist Sr. of Las Vegas; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.

Seniada 'Sandy' Navarro

Seniada "Sandy" Navarro, 45, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1956, in Hanford, Calif. A resident for 19 years, she was a housekeeper at Nellis Air Force Base since 1988.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine Navarro of Las Vegas and Lisa Gardner of Tucson, Ariz.; one son, Robert Navarro of Anchorage, Alaska; her father, Felipe of Texas; her mother, Josephine of California; five sisters; and four grandsons.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Lloyd Dean Oberg

Lloyd Dean Oberg, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1936, in Wessington, S.D. A resident for 16 years, he was an electrical groundsman for Bechtel Nevada, an Army veteran and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Jane; three daughters, Deana Gail Walker of Las Vegas, Deborah Lynn Mejia of Othello, Wash., and Barbara Ann Born of Spokane, Wash.; two sons, Dennis Lee Oberg of Las Vegas and Kenneth A. Mitchell of Lewistown, Mont.; three brothers, Wayne Oberg of Walla Walla, Wash., Chip Christopherson of Alabama and Glen Oberg of California; six sisters, Eva Hiles of Reno, Nel Dages of Fresno, Calif., Mary Hiles of Samuel, Calif., Tess Moss of Ridgecrest, Calif., Florence Buchanan of Las Vegas and Shirley Lusch of Cody, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Carmine Palmieri

Carmine Palmieri, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Revere, Mass. A resident for six years, he was a graphic artist and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Estela.

Visitation is scheduled 1:30-5:55 p.m. Thursday with a 4 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Fernande Louise Powell

Fernande Louise Powell, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Martinique. A resident for seven years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan Jannasch of Henderson; two grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Pyles

Robert Pyles, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 12, 1919, in Washington, D.C. A resident for seven years, he was a retired truck driver in the bakery industry and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alline F.; two daughters, Lucy Brickman and Diane White, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Eleanor Cook and Lillie Wiggs, both of Arlington, Va.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

Dana Uvoyd Reynolds

Dana Uvoyd Reynolds, 37, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 19, 1964, in California. A resident for five years, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

He is survived by his wife, Tina; two sons, DaJuan Reynolds and Tyrone White II; one daughter, Shani Adrian Reynolds; his parents, Richard and Betty; four brothers, Richard Reynolds Jr., Rosevelt Johnson, Terris J. Reynolds and Anthony Johnson; and one sister, Regina A. Banks.

Visitation is scheduled 4-6 p.m. Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ann Schutts

Ann Schutts, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born June 10, 1918, in Scotland. A resident for 26 years, she owned and operated a statuary company.

She is survived by her husband, Hollis; one son, Robert; three daughters, Nancy, Cathy and Nancy Lee; one sister, Alice; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging a pending memorial service.

Magdalena Alcala Teodoro

Magdalena Alcala Teodoro, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 27, 1929, in the Philippines. A resident for eight years, she was a teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Romeo; two sons, Ernest Teodoro of Las Vegas and Arthur Teodoro of the Philippines; two daughters, Rosemarie Teodoro of Las Vegas and Nenette Pangalilingan of Canada; two brothers, Larry Alcala of New York and Frank Alcala of the Philippines; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be in the Philippines. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Mary L. Wallace

Mary L. Wallace, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A porter, she was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Luther, Okla.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheri Holden and Katrina Jones; one sister, Ruth Etta Burdette, and one brother, Alfonzo James, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Evelyn C. Willoughby

Evelyn C. Willoughby, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in Evanston, Wyo. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Hill of Portland, Ore., Jacquline Jensen of Kimberly, Idaho, and Helen Shostakoski of Las Vegas; two sisters, Inez Wright of North Ogden, Utah, and Eva Shepard of Salt Lake City; and one brother, Warren Christensen of North Ogden.
