William Wesley Duncan of Laughlin, Nev., showed little emotion Wednesday as Judge Robert Moon read the sentence. Duncan could have faced the death penalty.
Duncan was convicted last year of shooting informant Elisha Franz in the face with a shotgun as she answered a knock on her door the night of July 10, 1998.
Michael Isaacs, a co-defendant in the case, was sentenced last year to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the case.
Court records show that Isaacs asked Duncan to "kill a snitch" in return for an unlimited supply of methamphetamine. Isaacs refused to testify during Duncan's trial.
