Names sought for role model awards
Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001 | 10:19 a.m.
Nominations of women in the community who are good examples for other women and girls are being sought for the Nevada Women's Role Model Awards.
Sponsored by Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa, the awards seek to recognize women in the state who have worked to improve the lives of others through their time, energy, devotion, spirit and community activism.
Previous recipients have included educators, health care workers, administrators, community activists, business leaders and women active in community-oriented organizations.
"What they all have in common is their dedication and commitment, not only to their communities, but also to the unfolding history of our state," Del Papa said.
Nomination forms can be obtained by calling the Las Vegas attorney general's office at 486-3420, or online (ag.state.nv.us).
Completed nomination forms should be postmarked no later than Feb. 11. Forms can be mailed to Office of the Attorney General, Attn: Steve George, 100 N. Carson St., Carson City, Nv, 89701-4717.
Nomination forms can also be faxed to (775) 684-1108.
