Shooting Stars halt Bandits’ streak at four
Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001 | 10:51 a.m.
The Las Vegas Bandits' four-game winning streak came to a halt Wednesday night as the Trenton Shooting Stars defeated Las Vegas 95-84 at the Thomas & Mack Center in an International Basketball League game.
The Stars (7-13) got a double-double from Ray Tutt (23 points, 11 rebounds), and Mason Rocca had a season-high 23 points before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
Las Vegas was led by rookie guard Eddie Gill's 13 points, Mike Jones' 12 points and DeeAndre Hulett's 11.
J.R. Henderson, the Bandits' leading scorer, was held to his second-lowest point total of the season with 9 -- only his second time not scoring in double digits. Henderson was 3-for-8 from the free-throw line, making him 5-for-18 over the last two games.
The Bandits will host Cinncinatti Friday night in a game that will be televised on a tape-delayed basis Friday at 10 p.m. on KTUD Channel 25/Cable 14 UPN.
