Gilbert Beardsley

Gilbert Beardsley, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 19, 1943, in Washington state. A resident for 28 years, he was a casino bartender, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Desert Rifle and Pistol Shooting Range.

He is survived by one daughter, Maryann Ladislao of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling private arrangements.

Betty Berg

Betty Berg, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1908, in Poland. A resident for 22 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Milton Berg and Seymour Berg, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Mac Sussman and George Sussman, both of New York; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Paradise Memorial Gardens. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

George William Bernadot

George William Bernadot, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 18, 1925, in LaMoille, Minn. A resident for 34 years, he was a general contractor in the engineering field, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by one son, Brad Bernadot of Las Vegas; two daughters, Debra Bernadot Sciotto of Reno and Holly Whitlock of Elko; three sisters, Pearl Busch of Las Vegas, Bette Baum of Orem, Utah, and Dolores Penrod of Provo, Utah; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 5 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Delores Mildred Biesiada

Delores Mildred Biesiada, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for six years, she was born May 19, 1932, in Detroit.

She is survived by one son, Mike Biesiada of Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Michele Ankney of Las Vegas and Donna Thompson of Norton, Mass.; and nine grandchildren.

Lizzie M. Coleman

Lizzie M. Coleman, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local recovery hospital. She was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Pickens, Miss.

She is survived by eight sons, Clifton Coleman, Larry Coleman, Dell Coleman, William McKinley, Lamar Simon, Glenn Simon, Charles Simon and Douglas Simon; four daughters, Billie Coleman, Claudette Simon, Connie Barnes and Angelina Simon; two sisters, Bessie Lee Coates of Chicago and Arista Jackson of Las Vegas; 42 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

Robert Roland Croteau

Robert Roland Croteau, 68, of Las Vegas died Jan. 21 in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Massachusetts. A resident for 31 years, he was a roofer, a Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Moose.

He is survived by one son, Robert R. Croteau Jr.; three daughters, Sandra, Donna and Linda; three brothers, Raymond, Tommy and Donald; one sister, Barbara; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

H. Lee Doss

H. Lee Doss, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Phoenix. He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 46 years, he was a retired engineer in the telephone industry, a member of Independent Telephone Pioneers, Roadrunners, Champions of Organ Sharing and Senior Friends.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Chris Schnitzius of Prescott, Ariz., and Nola Lawson of Reno; one son, Herbert Lee Doss Jr. of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Jessie C. Glass

Jessie C. Glass, 89, of Boulder City died Wednesday in Boulder City. She was born March 29, 1911, in Athens, W.Va. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired craft director for a care center.

She is survived by one daughter, Aliese D. Cavanaugh of Boulder City; one son, Raymond Markwell of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church in Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Lee Hemington

Lee Hemington, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 28, 1947, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James; three daughters, Tracey Brewer, Jamie Hemington and Kara Hemington, her mother, Elise Kell, and one brother, Terry Kell, all of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in the LDS Winchester Ward. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Ina Lopes Hughes

Ina Lopes Hughes, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Providence, R.I. A resident for seven years, she was a civil service employee and a member of the Black Women's Business Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah J. Lopez of Laughlin, Christine Lopes of Seaside, Calif., and Rebecca Cooper of Las Vegas; one son, Anthony Lopes of Phoenix; one sister, Ilene Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Donald Taylor of Kingstown, R.I., and Bill Taylor and Ralph Taylor, both of Providence; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Boulevard Church of Christ, 4000 W. Oakey Blvd. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Patricia Ann Hughes

Patricia Ann Hughes, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Las Vegas. A resident for 25 years, she was a retired certified nursing assistant for a home care provider service.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one daughter, Antoinette Gierth of Las Vegas; two sons, Sean Gibson of Las Vegas and Roger Monette of Fort Knox, Ky.; five sisters, Carol Coy of Verona, N.Y., Maxine Sunderland of Aurora, Colo., Shelby Monette of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Gail Rossi and Diane Halpin, both of Rome, N.Y.; two brothers, Gerald Monette of Rome and Gary Monette of Camden, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Paul Vernon Moore

Paul Vernon Moore, 67, of Pahrump died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 8, 1933, in Kennett, Mo. A resident for 15 years, he owned Paul Moore's Sand and Gravel and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; two sons, Barry Moore and Marvin Bawden, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Paula Baldridge of Flint, Mich., and Rachel Moore of Pahrump; one brother, Jack Moore, and one sister, Joyce Sargeanis, both of Flint, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service was scheduled at 2 p.m. today at the Neptune Society of Nye County chapel, 720 Buol Lane, Pahrump.

William K. Neeley

William K. Neeley, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 41 years, he was a culinary worker.

He is survived by one son, Larry; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mildred Irene Olkowski

Mildred Irene Olkowski, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 12, 1933, in Detroit. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pinochle Club at the Mirabelli Center.

She is survived by her husband, John J.; two sons, Michael S. Olkowski of Hickory Corners, Mich., and Daniel E. Olkowski of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two daughters, Patricia M. Olkowski of San Clemente, Calif., and Cynthia A. Mallett of Vista, Calif.; three brothers, Arnold C. Kennedy of Pahrump, Clayton Kennedy of Las Vegas and Virgil Kennedy of Austin, Texas; one sister, Catherine M. Partello of Torrance, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 1 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Mary Lee Rose

Mary Lee Rose, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born June 3, 1927, in Oakland, Calif. A resident for eight years, she was a retired secretary in the pharmaceutical industry.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin; one son, Aleck J. Rose of Las Vegas; one brother, Jake Rader of Seattle; and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Jamie Rosenwald

Jamie Rosenwald, 41, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 20, 1960, in Mariemont, Ohio. A resident for two years, she was a legal secretary.

She is survived by her companion, Eric Heard; one daughter, Natalie Rosenwald; her mother, Althea Rosenwald; and two sisters, Lynn Van Slyke and Kay Evangelou.

Thelma Evelyn Schmidt

Thelma Evelyn Schmidt, 95, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 23, 1905, in Minnesota. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired telephone operator and bookkeeper.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Paetzel of Las Vegas and Curtis Schmidt of Blaine, Minn.; one sister, Gertrude Fleischacker of Elbow Lake, Minn.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana Ave. Burial will be in Michigan. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Fannie Simonelli, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born April 27, 1930, in New York City. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired chief clerk in the pharmaceutical industry and a member of Senior Friends.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; two sons, Frank Simonelli of Las Vegas and Sal Simonelli of New Jersey; two brothers, Tommy Benisatto of Las Vegas and Alex Benisatto of New York; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern.

Ronald A. Smith

Ronald A. Smith, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Johnstown, Pa. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired state government auditor and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ellen; two sons, Ronald Smith Jr. of Las Vegas and Robert Smith of Vancouver, Wash.; one sister, Shirley Arnold of Greer, S.C.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
