Currently: The Bulldogs' top 165-pounder, Gifford has won 13 of his 23 matches this season, including two by major decision. For his two-year college career, the former Las Vegas standout boasts a 27-20 overall mark (8-13 in dual meets), with three major decisions and one pin.
Looking back: A dominant prep wrester, Gifford finished his four-year varsity career with a sparkling 114-13 record. His crowning achievement came as a senior, when Gifford captured the 160-pound state title. He also earned prep All-American status in Greco-Roman wrestling in 1995 and '98. His two young brothers, Greg and Chris, are current members of the Las Vegas Wildcats' varsity squad.
