Oscar Barnett aka Mel Gaynor

Oscar Barnett aka Mel Gaynor, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Hubli, India. A resident for four years, he was a retired entertainer who sang on cruise ships and in London.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; three daughters, Sara Santisi of Tamarac, Fla., Jemma of London and Tina of Canada; two sons, Steven Barnett and Gary Barnett, and two sisters, Peggy Watson and Phyllis Whitehead, all of London; and two grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Charles William Bell

Charles William Bell, 72, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 19, 1929, in California. A resident for 32 years, he was a sales representative for Ready Mix concrete, president and zone chairman of the Lions Club and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Elizabeth; one son, Gene Bell; one daughter, Linda Bell; two brothers, Dick Bell and Kenneth Bell; and three grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Eric Tremain Boney

Eric Tremain Boney, 17, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 23, 1983, in Tallulah, La. A resident for two months, he was a student.

He is survived by his mother, Mary L. Boney; his father, James S.Louis; four sisters, Kimmala Boney, Lakeitha Boney and Thawalla Clairborne, all of Las Vegas, and Missey Banks of Tallulah; two brothers, Cedric R. Boney and James P. Boney; and two grandmothers, Bernice Sims of Tallulah and Emma Jane Nelson of Dallas.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

L.J. Brown

L.J. Brown, 80, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. He was born March 21, 1921, in Kennedy, Texas. A resident for seven years, he worked for Culligan water, was a Navy veteran and a member of the Masons.

He is survived by one son, Carlos Brown; one daughter, Mary Dennis; and three grandchildren.

Benny Ralph Campbell

Benny Ralph Campbell, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 7, 1926, in Commerce, Okla. A resident for 10 years, he was an insurance adjuster, an Army veteran and a member of the Bridge Club of Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; one son, Eric Campbell of New York; one daughter, Benley Cummings of Oklahoma; four sisters, Mildred LeMaster of Kentucky, Maxine Cochran and JoAnne Hines, both of Oklahoma, and June Hunter of Texas; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside memorial service will 2 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Denise A. Davis

Denise A. Davis, 42, of Henderson died Dec. 14 in a local health care center. She was born Jan. 8, 1959, in St. Louis. A resident for seven years, she was a technician for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; one son, Thomas Joseph Davis of Henderson; her mother, Connie Harsey, and one sister, Melissa Harsey, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 2 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Rose V. Davis

Rose V. Davis, 96, of Las Vegas died Dec. 13 in Las Vegas. She was born July 27, 1905, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for five years, she was a retired seamstress and former member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She is survived by one son, John A. Cangolosi of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Kansas City, Kan. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Cleah Louise Klein

Cleah Louise Klein, 66, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 17, 1935, in Utah. A resident for more than 40 years, she was a waitress and a member of TOPS.

She is survived by her husband, Keith M. Klein; two sons; three daughters; one brother; three sisters; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Helen M. Leser

Helen M. Leser, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born June 25, 1922, in Sutersville, Pa. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Christian Leser of Burlingham, N.Y.; three daughters, Marie Skwarlo of Pine Bush, N.Y., Susan Leser of Wurtsboro, N.Y., and Helen Leser of Las Vegas; one brother, Arthur Phar of Wurtsboro; one sister, Christine Cordts of Chicago; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Robert Denis Lindley

Robert Denis Lindley, 48, of Las Vegas died Dec. 10 in Las Vegas. He was born March 3, 1953, in New Jersey. A resident for 19 years, he was a heavy equipment operations engineer and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by one uncle, Edward Moore, and one cousin, Michael Moore, both of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 1-4 p.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Dorothy Mae Lindsey and Jerlene Pernell Murray

Dorothy Mae Lindsey, 64, of North Las Vegas and Jerlene Pernell Murray, 62, of Las Vegas, sisters, died Dec. 13 in Las Vegas. Dorothy was born Feb. 6, 1937, and Jerlene was born Nov. 8, 1939, both in Mississippi. They were residents for more than 40 years and were caregivers.

They are survived by their parents, Tennie and Lucille Pernell; and two brothers, Aaron Pernell Sr. and James Pernell; Dorothy is also survived by four sons, James E. Pernell, Allen D. Boyd, Ricky L. Boyd and De Marcus S. Lindsey; two daughters, Annette McClay and Yvonne L. Boyd; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Jerlene is also survived by three sons, Patrick L. Murray, Michael K. Murray and Albert T. Murray; two brothers, Aaron Pernell Sr. and James Pernell; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Greater Bethel Church, 976 Hassell Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Lloyd K. Long

Lloyd K. Long, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Panaca. A lifelong Nevada resident, he was a Clark County School District teacher and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne; two daughters, Suzanne Foster of Layton, Utah, and Marybeth Long of Las Vegas; four sons, Laurence Long and Kenneth Long, both of Las Vegas, Merrill Long of Clearwater, Fla., and Douglas Long of Cedar City, Utah; one brother, Walter E. Long of Las Vegas; two sisters, Vee Medlin of Farmington, Utah, and Shelley Beckstrand of Long Beach, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be noon Saturday in the LDS First Ward, Eighth Street and Franklin Avenue.

Madrene Mau

Madrene Mau, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. She worked in accounting in health care. She was born May 21, 1923, in Pratt, Kan.

She is survived by two sons, Billy H. Mau and Bradley H. Mau, two daughters, Antoinette Moots and Julina Rogers, and one sister, Maxine Arnoldsen, all of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Church of Religious Science, 1420 E. Harmon Ave. Burial will be private. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Wave Venira McCarty

Wave Venira McCarty, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 26, 1914, in Onaway, Mich. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Warren Hall; one daughter, Merleen Hall; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

John Parsons

John Parsons, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born June 27, 1921, in Oklahoma City. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired airline captain, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; one daughter, Michelle Reid of San Jose, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Marvin Perin

Marvin Perin, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Michigan. A resident for many years, he was a manufacturer's representative for Ford Motor Co. and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Miriam Resnick of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Michigan. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Doris M. Pinard

Doris M. Pinard, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born March 5, 1925, in Rogers, Texas. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired administrative assistant at Temple Beth Sholom for 30 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Gilliland of Las Vegas and J.T. Fischer of Rogers, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Rance John Redican

Rance John Redican, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 31, 1939, in Reno. A resident for 55 years, he was a hotel senior corporate investigator, a retired Metro Police intelligence detective and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Darla J.; two daughters, Katherine Williams of Las Vegas and Kerry Redican Arkell of Edmond, Okla.; one sister, Kelli Redican of Grass Valley, Calif.; one brother, Ken Henderson of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Kenneth Richards

Kenneth Richards, 35, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A resident for one year, he was born May 11, 1966, in the Philippines.

He is survived by his father, Francisco; his mother, Nieves; two brothers, Chris and Francis Jr.; and two sisters, Mona and Marife.

John Anthony Santiago

John Anthony Santiago, 45, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 12, 1956, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 15 years, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Santiago of Puerto Rico; his father, John Anthony Santiago Sr. of Las Vegas; his mother, Margaret Santiago of Brooklyn; two brothers, Alphonse Santiago of Brooklyn and J.J. Santiago of Las Vegas; and four sisters, Francis Pernice, Elaina Rago, Dawn O'Leary and Michele Cruz, all of New York; and two grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Brooklyn. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Michael Totten

Michael Totten, 52, of Mesquite died Wednesday in Mesquite. He was born April 30, 1949, in Pocatello, Idaho. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a plumbing contractor and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; three sons, Michael James and Christopher John, both of Overton, and Douglas Preston of Mesquite; his father, Clifford of Las Vegas; two brothers, David Totten and Timothy Totten, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Sandra Karelas of Mesquite; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Logandale LDS Stake Center with services following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Logandale Cemetery. Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah, is handling arrangements.

Yesenia E. Vazquez

Yesenia E. Vazquez, 5 months, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. She was born July 10, 2001, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Maria Isabel Diaz Vazquez and Juan Pablo Vazquez, and four sisters, Chastity Diaz Vazquez, Adriana Diaz Vazquez, Jasmine Diaz Vazquez and Savannah Diaz Vazquez, all of North Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Adela Espana and Francisco Alberto Diaz, both of Las Vegas.

Ralph V. Vuolo, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 3, 1943, in New York. A resident for 25 years, he was a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline; one son, Ralph Victor Vuolo Jr.; three daughters, Michelle, Joni and Marylynn; and one stepdaughter, Rosalind Simonds.

Michael Phillip Yarber Jr., 22, of Las Vegas died Dec. 14 in Las Vegas. A resident for many years,, he was born Oct. 21, 1979, in Ferriday, La.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Barbara Ann and Elmore Williams Jr.; his father, Michael Phillip Yarber Sr.; and four sisters, Deonca L. Yarber, Nyesha N. Williams and Raven JaCole Williams, all of Las Vegas, and Alissa Yarber of Baton Rouge, La.

He is survived by his wife, Marilynn; two sons, Tom Zajicek and Gary Zajicek, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Jerome Zajicek of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sisters, Virginia Visin of Chicago and Pat Andel of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
