Annual passes are available
Entrance and lake-use passes for the Lake Mead National Recreation Area are available for 2002.
The passes can be purchased at entrance stations at park boundary lines on Lake Mead Boulevard, Lake Mead Drive, Lake Shore Road and in Arizona at Katherine Landing Ranger Station.
Seniors are invited
to enter the ninth annual 2002 National Senior Health and Fitness Day Theme Contest. Adults age 50 and older are eligible to submit a contest entry. Entries must be postmarked by Jan. 18 and should be sent to: 2002 Theme Contest, National Senior Health & Fitness Day, P.O. Box 883, Libertyville, IL 60048.
Blood drives
United Blood Services, 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., will conduct blood drives at these locations:
Wednesday: 8 a.m.-9 p.m., Galleria at Sunset, 1300 Sunset Road.
Thursday: 7 a.m.-noon, New-Com Inc., 412 E. Gowan Road; 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Teamsters Local No. 631, 700 N. Lamb Blvd.
Dec. 28: noon-5 p.m., Barley's, 4500 E. Sunset Road; 9 a.m.-2 p.m., American Medical Laboratories, 4230 Burnham Ave., Suite 270; 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Texas Station; 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Bill Heard Chevrolet, 444 S. Decatur Blvd.
Dec. 29: 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Hard Rock Cafe, 4475 Paradise Road.

Immunizations
Health District immunization clinics are open each week in Southern Nevada. Most immunizations are provided without charge to children and young adults under the age of 19 in any of four public health centers and 12 immunization clinics. These clinics will be open next week:
DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER: 625 Shadow Lane, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
HENDERSON PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 129 W. Lake Mead Drive, Building A, Suite 10, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
NORTH LAS VEGAS PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER: 1820 E. Lake Mead Blvd., Suite F, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
EAST LAS VEGAS WIC CLINIC: 5701 E. Missouri Ave., 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m., Wednesday.
DESERT BREEZE CLINIC: Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Road, noon-4 p.m., Friday.
FREMONT MEDICAL CLINIC: 4880 Wynn Road, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday. Most immunizations free to anyone who walks in.
