Manuel J. Adler

Manuel J. Adler, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Mexico City. A resident for 15 years, he was a Caesars Palace banquet waiter for 12 years.

He is survived by one son, Aaron Adler of Las Vegas; two brothers, Luis Adler of Mexico City and Izaak Adler of Las Vegas; and one sister, Carmen Adler of Voorhees, N.J.

A memorial service was scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Joel Aguilar

Joel Aguilar, 28, of Las Vegas, died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 8, 1973, in the Philippines. A resident for two months, he was a hotel busboy.

He is survived by his mother, Dolores Aguilar of Las Vegas; his father, Salustiano Aguilar of the Philippines; one sister, Estrellita Aguilar of Las Vegas; and one brother, Romeo Aguilar of the Philippines.

Visitation will be 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Services Monday In Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park-Northwest.

Henry E. Benham Jr.

Henry E. Benham Jr., 44, of Las Vegas died July 24 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 1, 1957, in Chicago. A resident for three years, he was a retired chef.

He is survived by one daughter, Nicole Anne Marie Benham of Skokie, Ill.; one brother, Joseph B. Benham of Las Vegas.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Sabra B. Carpenter

Sabra B. Carpenter, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 9, 1918, in Canyon City, Colo. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by several cousins.

Services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the Animal Foundation, 700 N. Mojave Road, Las Vegas., NV 89101.

Willard Eugene Cox

Willard Eugene Cox, 79, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Ohio. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired hotel security officer.

He is survived by his wife, Charity Cox of the Philippines; two daughters, Alexis Amberg and Alaine Girao, and one son, Timothy Cox, all of Las Vegas; four stepsons, Fernan De Leon, Ferddie De Leon, Pong De Leon and Boboy De Leon, all of the Philippines; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Jimmie Robert Edwards

Jimmie Robert Edwards, 59, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 25, 1942, in Clover, S.C. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired sous chef and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife, Lacy; two sons, Vincent Edwards of Las Vegas and Fred Edwards of Baltimore; five daughters, Audrey Edwards of Sacramento, Michelle Edwards and Mary Edwards, both of Charlotte, N.C., Kelly Jackson of Reno and Rachelle Jackson of Las Vegas; his father, Parker Jackson of Baltimore; three brothers, John Edwards, Parker Edwards Jr. and Thomas Edwards; eight sisters, Mary Rose Edwards, Essie Edwards, Peggy Edwards, Louise Edwards, Helen Edwards, Stella Edwards, Sabrina Edwards and Jessie Edwards; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will be private.

Tommy L. Farley

Tommy L. Farley, 84, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in North Las Vegas. He was born May 10, 1917, in Lindsey, Okla. A resident for three years, he was a retired auto salesman and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; one son, Tom Farley of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Julia Guthrie

Julia Guthrie, 70, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Barranquilla, Colombia. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, Efrain Morantes and Rafael Morantes, both of Miami, and Luis Morantes of Las Vegas; one daughter, Maria Morantes of Miami; two brothers, Fernando Zuloaga and Tulio Zuloaga, both of Colombia; three sisters, Rita Jaramillo of Colombia and Leonar Zuloaga and Carmen Mahan, both of Las Vegas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Dona M. Harris

Dona M. Harris, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born March 15, 1918, in Fordyce, Ark. A resident for 45 years, she was a hotel porter and a member of the Fordyce Club.

She is survived by two sons, Clarence Eugene and Phil Harris; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, followed by graveside services in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Clarence L. Howard

Clarence L. Howard, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 14, 1931, in Jackson, Miss. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired leasing company owner, an Army veteran, a college football player and a member of the Prince Hall F&AM.

He is survived by one daughter, La Keeta E. Howard, and one son, John K. Howard, both of Los Angeles; and one sister, Alberta Alexander of Jackson, Miss.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Olive Ann McCarvill

Olive Ann McCarvill, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Portsmouth, N.H. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

She is survived by one son, James McCarvill of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Carol Dunlop of Las Vegas; one brother, George Thomas of Connecticut; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Justin Paul Monatesse

Justin Paul Monatesse, 25, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 3, 1975, in Anaheim, Calif. A resident for 16 years, he was a computer consultant.

He is survived by his mother, Rennie Hanson of Henderson.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Forest Nandlow

Forest Nandlow, 82, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Indiana. A resident for six months, he was a steel metal model maker.

He is survived by his wife, Sophrona; and one son, Garth Handlow of Greenwood, Ind.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Indianapolis. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Erna Payton

Erna Payton, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Idaho. A resident for 11 years, she was a mail carrier for 13 years.

She is survived by her mother, Lucie McGlumphy of Arizona; four daughters, Laurel Anne Fries, Linda Diane Van Landingham, Deborah Rae Waters and Brenda Dawn Backness, all of Washington state; one brother, Reed Howard of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 7-8 p.m. Monday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 2240 E. Calvada Blvd. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chief Tecopa Cemetery.

Robert M. Rayburn

Robert M. Rayburn, 66, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 19, 1934, in Greenville, Texas. A resident for 57 years, he was a retired Air Force airman 1st class and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia; four daughters, Debbie McIntosh of San Diego and Rena Rayburn, Wendy Rayburn and Theresa Rayburn, all of Henderson; two sons, Michael Rayburn and Rickey Rayburn, both of Henderson; three sisters, Dorothy Beasley of Cumby, Texas, Iva Combs of Plano, Texas, and Judy Bornheim of Duncan, Okla.; two brothers, Billy Joe Rayburn of Bremerton, Wash., and Eddie Rayburn of Mesquite; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Monday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Raymond Ellis Reed

Raymond Ellis Reed, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Riverside, Calif. A resident for 27 years, he was a cement contractor and machinist.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen A. Morrison of Las Vegas; one son, Danny F. Reed of California; one brother, Elmer Reed of Orange, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 8-9 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Mitcheal B. Stamis

Mitcheal B. Stamis, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born July 18, 1933, in Torrance, Calif. A resident for 39 years, he was a hotel food and beverage employee and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Alexandra Stamis of Las Vegas and Nancy Fornaris and Julie Stamis, both of Henderson; one son, Jerry Stamis, and two brothers, Angelo Stamis and George Stamis, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday in St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, 5300 El Camino Road. A trisagion service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John's Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson, 51, of Henderson died Wednesday in Lincoln County. He was born Dec. 5, 1950, in Michigan. A resident for one year, he was a laborer.

He is survived by one daughter, Pam Wilson of Niles, Mich.

Linfa Wright

Linfa Wright of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Santa Barbara, Calif. A resident for 36 years, she was a registered nurse.

She is survived by one son, Michael; three daughters, Nina, Diana and Lisa; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
