Political notebook: Candidates invited to forum

The American Association of University Women will hold a forum Wednesday on women's issues for candidates for U.S. Congress.

All of the state's congressional candidates will be represented at the forum, except former Republican Rep. John Ensign, who declined the invitation, association officials said.

The forum will be 7 to 9 p.m. at the UNLV classroom building complex, room A112.

Women's caucus

The National Women's Political Caucus of Southern Nevada will honor residents and politicians at its Good Guys and Gals Award dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bally's.

Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., and County Commisioners Dario Herrera and Myrna Williams will be among those recognized at the event.

The UNLV ballroom dance team and music by Denis Parsons will be the featured entertainment.
