Hard Rock hosts beach volleyball tournament

The Association of Volleyball Professionals will be making its stop in Las Vegas this weekend at the Hard Rock hotel-casino for the 10th Annual Paul Mitchell King and Queen of the Beach tournament that started today. Adam Johnson and Jose Loiola (1995 King of the Beach) heads the 14-player men's field while Holly McPeak (1999 Queen of the Beach) and Misty May are part of the 14-player women's field.
The players will compete in a round-robin format where each player will switch partners and accumulate points and prize money based on the number of games won. At stake is more than $250,000 in total prize money. The tournament will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5-$20 today, $10-$30 on Saturday and $15-$40 for Sunday's finals.
