James Bare

James Bare, 37, of Las Vegas died Feb. 14 in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 24, 1962, in Japan. A resident for one year, he was a disabled Army veteran of the Gulf War.

He is survived by three daughters, Brandy, Amber and Crystal; his mother, Kimiko Bare of Escondido, Calif.; and one brother, Daniel Bare of Carterville, Ill.

Visitation is scheduled 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

M.E. Bocook

M.E. Bocook, 94, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Cottonwood Falls, Kan. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired oil burner repairman for the Clark County School District.

He is survived by one daughter, Sue Serna of Las Vegas.

Marvin Burns

Marvin Burns, 56, of North Las Vegas died Jan. 26 in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Cincinnati. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired dice dealer.

He is survived by two sisters, Maxine Burns and Jessie Burns, and one brother, Howard Burns, all of Cincinnati.

Graveside services are scheduled 1 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Alec Canham

Alec Canham, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Ipswich, England. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired insurance broker.

He is survived by his wife, Hendrika M.; one son, Bernard Canham of Las Vegas; three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation is scheduled 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Leland Aaron Clough

Leland Aaron Clough, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday. He was born March 21, 1929, in Vermont. A resident for six years, he was a sheet metal machinist department supervisor and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Spease of Las Vegas and Linda J. Elliot of Bakersfield, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Gavin Cromwell

Robert Gavin Cromwell, 70, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Cincinnati. A resident for six years, he was a warehouse manager for Warner-Lanbert and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; one daughter, Anita Cromwell of Henderson; two sons, Robert Cromwell and Bryan Cromwell, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Helen Prendergast of St. Mary's, Ohio.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services are scheduled 9 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Funeral Home. Burial will be 11 a.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Arlie J. Duree

Arlie J. Duree, 79, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born March 16, 1920, in Leavenworth, Kan. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired general manager in the dry cleaning industry.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; and one son, Arlie G. Duree of Henderson.

Barbara Ellen Hammond Dykstra

Barbara Ellen Hammond Dykstra, 45, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1954, in Cincinnati. A longtime resident, she was a nurse.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Hay of Cave City, Ky., and Sharon Bermeister of Bowling Green, Ky.; her mother, Octave Lux Dailey of Bowling Green; and one grandchild.

Services are in Kentucky.

Minnie M. Funtek

Minnie M. Funtek, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1907, in Hooper, Utah. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary T. Moore of Las Vegas, Gloria T. Lepak of Garrett Park, Md., and Eleanora T. Mumme of Pocatello, Idaho; one son, Anthony M. Funtek of Henderson; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10-10:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services are scheduled 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Grace James

Grace James, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 16, 1931, in Florida. A resident for 47 years, she was a cook and a 20- year employee of the Algier's hotel-casino, a retired member of the Culinary Union and a thrift store manager at Stella Fleming Towers.

She is survived by one son, Dale Toney of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services are scheduled 2 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Chapel.

Terry B. Leaf

Terry B. Leaf, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 16, 1937, in Marshall Town, Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired aviation shipping clerk and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by one son, De Vere E. Caruthers, and one daughter, Terry Q. Sheppard, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Richard Berrier of Brooklyn, Iowa; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. Thursday in Holy Family Church. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Patricia Ann Lindsay-Burchell

Patricia Ann Lindsay-Burchell, 67, died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Michigan. A resident for 20 years, she worked in accounting.

She is survived by her husband, Don Burchell; one daughter, Connie Smith; one brother, David Waite; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Warren Little

Warren Little, 66, of Overton died Monday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Saginaw, Mich. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired construction superintendent and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Warren Little II of Bullhead City, Ariz., and John Little of Las Vegas; three daughters, Leza Heed, Lori Black and Anna Aguilar, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Stanley Kile of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and John Little of Modesto, Calif.; one sister, Marian Holtgertz of Mount Pleasant; and 14 grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 3 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

George Martin Sr

George Martin Sr., 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired lithographer for a printing company and a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ila; three sons, James Martin of Glendale, Calif., Mark Martin of San Diego and George Martin Jr. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Laura Conrady of Reno; three sisters, Lillian Kren of Nampa, Idaho, Florence La Providenza of Brooklyn and Therese Karcher of Garden City, N.Y.; one brother, Joseph Martin of East Berkshire; and five grandchildren.

George E. Mitzel

George E. Mitzel, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 27, 1909, in Berwick, N.D. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired owner of Mitzel Real Estate, a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 70 years, president of the Sans Souci hotel-casino, a former teacher and football coach in Washington, owner of several drive-in theaters in California and was the past president of Time Oil Co. in California.

He is survived by three daughters, Joan Holt and Phyllis Beising, both of Las Vegas, and Dolores Meaney of Novato, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services are scheduled 5 p.m. Thursday in Palm Downtown with additional services at 1 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church.

Patrick Lee Moore

Patrick Lee Moore, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1955, in California. A resident for two years, he was an electrical appliance repair technician.

He is survived by his parents, Larry John Moore and Agnes Stella Haight Moore, both of Las Vegas; and one brother, Michael S. Moore of Oceanside, Calif.

Florence Mary "Gerry" Morey

Florence Mary 'Gerry' Morey, 77 of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born June 1, 1922, in Norwich, Conn. A longtime resident, she was a sales clerk for 50-50 Hardware.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Morey.

John C. Morrell

John C. Morrell, 55, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 4, 1944, in Rapid City, S.D. A resident for 19 years, he was an attorney, a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Nevada State Bar Association and South Dakota State Bar Association.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; one daughter, Debra Evanson of Arlington, Wash.; two sons, Richard Jones of Lompoc, Calif., and John Jones of Buellton, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled 3 p.m. Friday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Richard George Polansky

Richard George Polansky, 62, of South Windsor, Conn., died Friday in Vernon, Conn. He was born March 19, 1937, in Hartford, Conn. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a retired stock clerk for a bread company.

He is survived by one sister, Sandra Plourde of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Additional visitation is scheduled two hours prior to 11 a.m. graveside services in Palm Eastern.

Walter E. Shull Jr

Walter E. Shull Jr., 67, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Santa Monica, Calif. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired arson investigator for the city of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; three daughters, Sandra Contreras of Pasadena, Calif., Candy Scott of Ventura, Calif., and Roberta Boggs of Northhills, Calif.; three sons, Walter E. Shull III of Nuevo, Calif., James Shull of Ventura and Harold Boggs of Northridge, Calif.; and one sister, Patricia Clark of Aumsville, Ore.

Anita R. Solomon, 60, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 3, 1939, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 26 years, she was a loan processor.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin, one daughter, Cherll Hardy, one son, Jeff Solomon, and one brother, Jack Bankler, all of Las Vegas.

Services are scheduled 11:30 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Linda Stephenson

Linda Stephenson, 60, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 11, 1939, in Texas. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, one son, Allen Stephenson, two daughters, Lori Tate and Diane Preze, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Jimmy Don Randolph of Texas; two sisters, Rita Sue Saunders and Ricki Seaton, both of Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Glenn Geriomon Turner, 23, of Las Vegas died Feb. 24 in Las Vegas. He was born March 31, 1976, in South Carolina. A resident for months, he was a corrections officer.

Emma Yates

Emma Yates, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Checotah, Okla. A resident for 58 years, she was a retired cook in the hotel industry and a former member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by two sisters, Alma Yates of Las Vegas and Vula Yates of Phoenix; one brother, Joseph Yates Sr. of Baltimore; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services are scheduled 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Downtown. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.
