Agency going visual to find ‘deadbeat dads’

CARSON CITY -- The state Welfare Division is distributing a new "wanted" poster with the pictures of eight men who have skipped out on paying their child support and owe thousands of dollars to their offspring.

The biggest of the "deadbeat dads" is Randy S. Linville, a 43-year-old air conditioning and refrigeration electrician from Clark County who owes $50,344 to his two children. He was last seen in 1997 in Sacramento.

These posters are distributed periodically in an attempt to track down fathers who are not making court-ordered support payments. The division, in cooperation with the state attorney general's office, said, "These people are not taking care of their children."

Six of the eight named are from Clark County. They are Lonnie Orosco, a hotel worker, behind $15,318 in payments to his one child; Issac McCullum, Jr., a refrigeration technician who is $41,578 in arrears to his three children; Tomas H. Cowles, a laborer, behind $42,050 in support for two children; Brian Lee, who works in telephone sales and owes $26,324 for one child and Francesco Stabile, a waiter, who is behind $30,930 for support of one child.

The other two on the poster are from Elko County. They are John Medlock, behind $17,701 for four children and James VanHouten in arrears $29,870 to two children.

Anyone with information should call (800) 992-0900 extension 4744. The caller will remain anonymous.
